How does the symposium come to life?

Symposium Sponsorships

We could not do this without your help.

The strength of this conference lies in our community, our collective voices, our co-creation, and also our sponsorships. Sponsorships directly allow us to cover the cost of ticket discounts and scholarships— so farmers can come free, students can attend at a discount, and others can access a scholarship if needed. Sponsorships also help us pay learning our table hosts for their hands-on demos and develop print media, postcards, and signs for the event. Additionally, we’ll use sponsorship funding to pay a photographer to cover the event so that we can continue to tell the story of how local textiles have the opportunity to enliven our place.

There are three types of direct sponsorship opportunities below. You could also connect with us to be a raffle sponsor— see below!

We are an official 501(c)3, and all donations are tax-deductible. If you'd like to chat more about partnering with the Rust Belt Fibershed, please reach out to rustbeltfibershed@gmail.com. We'd love to chat more.

Thank you for helping us make this year’s event a springboard for ecologically-based culture shifts throughout the rest of 2025!

A HUGE THANK-YOU TO OUR CURRENT SPONSORS:

The Cleveland Foundation

The reason this symposium has been able to come into reality for a second year is because the folks at the Cleveland Foundation gave us an incredible starter grant that covered 35% of our budget. We are so very grateful for this funding, for their partnership, and for the work they’re doing in the Greater Cleveland Area.

The Buzzard Farm

The Buzzard Farm is a small, regenerative fiber farm in the Pennsylvanian Appalachian Region.  They currently hand craft limited amounts of quick knits from hand spun, hand processed yarn from their seven alpaca and five sheep. As an aspiring carbon neutral fiber producer, they hope to merge farming and cloth production by means of knitting machines and looms. Their ultimate goal is to produce clothing as a small scale manufacturer, designer, and fiber supplier. By enacting responsible rotational grazing, composting manure to spread on healing lands, they hope to help our planet even with the small amount their farm allows by improving their overall soil health while keeping their own carbon footprint as small as possible.

Coyote Run Fiberworks
