Founded in 2021, our factory in Cleveland, Ohio acts as a one-stop-shop for clients looking to design, develop and produce their soft goods, sustainably, in the USA. We produce 1-10,000+ units; from apparel to beanies, blankets, and more.
I’m Aidan Meany, CEO and founder of Found Surface.
When I started Found Surface in 2021, my vision was simple but ambitious: to make the United States a leader in apparel production—the right way. Today, that vision is coming to life in exciting ways, and I’m thrilled to share a glimpse of where we are and where we’re headed.
Where We Are Now
Found Surface has grown into a full-service apparel production facility for anyone looking to design, develop, and produce garments in the USA. Our digital knitting and programming team is capable of solving complex knit development challenges across a wide range of applications—from apparel to specialty uses in automotive and medical industries.
We’ve begun harnessing the potential of blending seamless knitting, digital knitting, and hand sewing to create efficient, sustainable products at scale—with no harm to those making them or the end users.
Operating out of Cleveland, our facility can produce thousands of units per month, alongside managing dozens of development projects simultaneously. We are quickly becoming a manufacturing leader in the United States.
Sustainability in Action
Our number one input material is family-grown, organic cotton from Texas. This cotton is spun in South Carolina and delivered to Cleveland as production-ready raw material.
Strategically knitted to reduce waste, any leftover material is composted through our partnership with Rust Belt Riders. On average, we compost nearly half a ton of material per month, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability.
Innovating for the Future
This year, our programming team has already made advancements that are redefining what’s possible in U.S. production. For example, we’ve developed seamless beanies that require no hand sewing and take just six minutes of machine time to produce. This means we can provide scalable, sustainable products at costs competitive with—and often lower than—many overseas manufacturers.
These innovations position Found Surface, and the United States, as leaders in creating high-quality products the right way.
