We are a small diversified farm in Somerset County Pa. My husband and I have grown produce for 20+ years, recently added a greenhouse, and are in year five of growing our flock of Coopworth sheep. We rotationally graze and are stewarding our pastures and fields to provide for our flock and wildlife. We are learning to produce beautiful fleeces for handspinners and sell freezer lamb. We currently sell our fleeces on Etsy, but would love to connect with local customers. The model of the fibershed is very appealing.
Sara and Todd Wetzel are the shepherds of Hi-View Gardens in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, where they tend to a growing flock of thirty Coopworth sheep. The sheep are rotationally grazed - they believe that caring for the pastures is the foundation for a healthy flock and a healthy ecosystem. Fleeces are available on Etsy at HiViewCoopworths. They would love to connect with fiber artists and textile lovers in the Rustbelt Fibershed. In addition to sheep, the Wetzels have a small produce business, greenhouse, and gardens for cutting flowers.
